Happy October!!!

Wow, can you believe September is gone!!! Time is flying by this fall and there continues to be changes to how we do things in school. Please check the website, FB and or school messenger regularly to stay up to date with the procedures and protocols.
Staff and Students are happy to be back in school and the September Start-up was very smooth.
Many thanks to the community (parents, grandparents, caregivers, guardians, bus drivers, staff and
students) for working together to provide a safe and enjoyable return to school.

The Safe Arrival Program helps parents and school know where children are, and that they have arrived safely. Parents
are asked to:
1. Report your child’s absence or late by contacting the school (519-923-2622, ext. 100). You can also text 519-372-5267.
2. Make sure the school has current phone numbers for home, work, cell phones and a local emergency contact.
3. In the event of inclement weather, contact the school if your child walks to school but is not attending.
As a school staff, if your child is marked absent and we have not heard from you we will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact.

Some Reminders:
Arrival
Bus students arrive and immediately go to their assigned
zone - this keeps our kids with their cohorts/class. Walkers
and those dropped off should arrive no earlier than 8:50 and
they too proceed directly to their zone.
Late?
If a student arrives after the 8:55 entry bell the parent(s) are
asked to ring the door bell and have the kids enter the front
doors—office staff will ensure they get to their class.
Nutrition Breaks
Our timetable incorporates two nutrition/activity breaks.
They are scheduled for 11:05 and 1:05. During the break,
time will be provided for outdoor play and a lunch/snack.
Kindergarten students will be playing for the first 20 and eating
for the second 20 minutes. Grade 1 and 2 eat first and
then play.
Dismissal
Kindergarten students who walk to school will be dismissed
at 3:05, grade 1 and 2 walkers will be released at 3:10. Parents/caregivers meeting a student are asked to wait at the
sidewalk Teacher s will escor t students to meet you ther e.
It is very important to arrive on time for pick up.
